El cubismo de Mário de Sá Carneiro: nuevas luces a  partir de su correspondencia

One of the ways through which the Portuguese Modernist author Mário de
Sá-Carneiro committed to the esthetic and artistic developments taking
place in the city of Paris of his time was through a poetic experimentation
with a Cubist figuration. This is particularly visible in “Manucure,” a poem
published in the second issue of the magazine *Orpheu* (1915), and one
that has historically been recognized both in its nature as a Futurist exercise
and a “blague”, a form of public provocation. This presentation will study the
contribution of the letters of Mário de Sá-Carneiro to Fernando Pessoa,
present in his archive, to a better understanding of Sá-Carneiro’s relation
with Cubism.
